A Fresh Journey

By Stacy M. Menz, PT, DPT
The last time I wrote, I was busy setting up for my maternity leave.
As I write now, I am preparing to officially return to work (although I’m not sure if practice owners are ever completely away).
While I have been away from the office, I have had two key members of my staff step up into leadership roles. I am excited to go back and see how they have thrived in these positions, what lessons they have learned, and what this new perspective they have gained will bring to the team. As a sole business owner I have been working toward building a more formal leadership team, and I believe being away on maternity leave these last few months provided the impetus for this giant step.
I can guarantee I will be looking in depth and referencing again many of the articles in this issue in order to continue to develop our leadership team as well as to make sure the right people are in the right seats on the bus! These steps to grow our leadership team will allow the business to continue to grow by providing better collaboration for business development efforts, development of our staff, and problem solving from multiple perspectives, all of which will assist in continuing the upward trajectory of the business. There are some great reflecting questions throughout this issue that will help guide our journey. I look forward to exploring them with my team, and I hope you do, too!
