As Americans prepare for 4th of July celebrations, many without masks now that they are vaccinated, it seems appropriate to look back on the impact of the pandemic on physical therapy patients and physical therapy practices.
The Section has been working on four interlinked issues that impact the payment environment for private practice physical therapists.
Heightened emotions have been driving our country for the past year, at least, as we navigate emotionally and politically charged challenges tied to the pandemic. The loss to our country and — even more tragically — American families has been devastating. Consequently, I am angry.
I, and almost everyone I know, have been feeling COVID-19 fatigue for months. Nevertheless, it is important to focus on the health of patients, the role of physical therapists, and the US health system despite the challenges of the pandemic.
