From the President

By Sandra Norby, PT, DPT
Dear PPS Members,
As I write this letter to you on March 25, 2020, I am hoping that the COVID-19 national emergency is behind us and your patient care schedules are full.
I participated in a Zoom event at the end of March about telehealth. Dianne Jewell, PT, DPT, PhD, FAPTA, shared these thoughts: “Our instinct is to fix it [COVID-19 impact] and we are working feverishly to solve it and we won’t be able to.” What we can do is rally together as a profession and be there for each other. Our normal has been fractured.
A group of our peers, along with staff and our expert consultants stepped up to lead our Section through this crisis. The PPS Advisory Committee literally worked around the clock to provide you with resource and information you needed to make decisions — very difficult decisions. My words of thanks to these individuals fall short of the immense gratitude in my heart. This is physical therapy at its best: working hard for the benefit of all.
In an effort for normal, we will continue to publish Impact, following the monthly topic schedule that was determined last fall.
Be well. Be safe.
