The Private Practice Section (PPS), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the profession of physical therapy suffered a great loss with the passing of Margot Miller on September 25th, not to mention the deep absence felt by the many of us who considered Margot a personal friend.
Margot served as assistant editor of Impact from 2009 to 2014, only one of her many roles of service to PPS. Margot served many years on the Impact editorial board and was also a member of the Finance Committee. In 2014, she was recipient of the PPS Board Service Award. She did not limit her contributions to PPS; she was a founding clinical staff member of Workwell Prevention and Care and was generous in sharing her time and expertise with her profession over the past 46 years as Director, President, and Advisor for the Occupational Health Special Interest Group and as a member of the APTA Media Corps on repetitive injury and overuse syndromes.
Beyond her personal contributions, her integrity, quick wit, infectious smile, and love of life and family, Margot had a special gift for involving, engaging, and developing the talent of others, exemplifying the spirit of PPS as a member-driven organization. We cherish her memory and celebrate her life with love and gratitude for all she did, contributed, and meant to each of us.
