Perspectives on Staffing

One of the things I find most interesting in my role as the editor for Impact magazine is how it provides me with perspective. This month’s issue covers the topic of staff recruitment and retention. I remember last year when we published an issue with a similar theme, I was waiting with bated breath for this issue to come out. My practice had just gone through a major restructure and nearly my entire team turned over for one reason or another. I couldn’t wait to read the issue to find those gems that I could implement to hopefully never experience the same situation of full staff turnover again.
Fast forward to this year, and this issue snuck up on me! It was really fun to review the articles for this issue and reflect on where my mentality as a business owner had been just one year ago to where it currently is with regard to staffing. Who else has found themselves taking stock of their business based on the topics covered in Impact magazine?
As I look back from last year to this year, I realize that I have always had quality staff members, but now I have a quality team. I can’t stress how much that has made all the difference in the world. When you can get your staff to come together for the mission and vision of the business and each contribute the skills and qualities you hired them for, magic can happen! (Yes, I know that sounds cheesy but I couldn’t help myself.)
